The day has officially come where Franklin turns 2! I cannot believe our fluffy little boy is starting his second year of life! Wild.

There have been quite a few changes in our family's life since July of 2024. Some of which I've already blogged about, like our move to Las Vegas, and others I have not yet shared with you all. Over the course of the next two months I'll be sharing some huge updates to Franklin's life, but for now I want to just focus on him. It's his birthday, after all!
According to the Breed Overview for Ragdoll cats on The Spruce Pets, Ragdolls average at about 20 pounds and 40 inches in length. Franklin is about 9 pounds and, from the tip of his nose to the end of his tail, about 32 inches, whereas last year he was 8 pounds. I did not measure him last year - I wish I had! - but I know from pictures that he has grown a little over the last year, though not nearly as much as he did in his first year of life. Normally Ragdolls are technically adults at age 2, but can continue growing and reach full maturity at age 4. In my opinion, I think Franklin has a bit more growing to do, but I have no idea when he'll reach cat maturity, or what that really entails. That will have to be research for another blog post, because as a still semi-new cat mom, I have no idea, and I should do the research into what makes a cat "mature" or "an adult"...
Anyways!
For Franklin's birthday this year, we'll be celebrating it a lot like we did last year, with new toys, special treats, and lots of love and snuggle time. As his birthday falls on a Sunday, John and I are both off work, which means we can spoil Fran rotten all day! Until, of course, he goes off for his afternoon nap in the garage. He loves curling up in the cat castle and getting hours of snoozing in before dinner and his after-dinner snoozes. Oh, to be a cat!
Thank you all for reading and keeping up with Franklin's journey. I know I haven't been as timely with my posts this year as I thought I would be, but whether you have read every blog post thus far or this is the first post you read, our little family is glad you're here!
