"Oh Missy, you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind and now I won't leave you alone and now you don't like me... whoops." -Franklin Tiger
Poor Franklin. First crushes can be so hard when the crush doesn't feel the same way.
John and I traveled to Disney World during his spring break, and his lovely mom, Ann, came to stay with the boys while we were away. At our request, she brought Missy with her, and John and I were really hoping Missy would bond more with our boys. Both Franklin and Kap really missed her after she left in December, and maybe being back after only a few months would thaw the ice wall Missy had put up between her and the boys.
Welp, it did not thaw. If anything, it got even colder, harder, and icier.
Ann told us that Franklin was much more brave this time when approaching Missy. Her warning hisses did nothing, and it got so bad so quickly that anytime Franklin was in the room Missy would hide under the couch. She would then refuse to come back out, even to eat our use the litter box, until both Fran and Kap were behind the bedroom door.
It was a very long 8 days for Missy, poor thing. As much as John and I love seeing her and having her stay with us, it's not worth her well-being to put her in a situation she doesn't want to be in. That doesn't mean the boys will never see Missy again-- she just won't be our house guest again anytime soon, or at least for not as long a visit.
BUT the good news is, since Ann stayed at our apartment, Franklin got more used to her and no longer views his GranMeemaw as stranger danger! He snuggled with her on occasion, let her pet him, and even enjoyed learning how to play Solitaire! According to Ann he loves watching her shuffle the deck.

Note to Self: Buy a pack of playing cards and let Franklin watch me shuffle them.
John and I will be going away for a weekend to a friend's wedding soon, and our other cat-sitter JC will be staying at our place to watch the boys, so my fingers are crossed that the longer he is around Franklin, the sooner he will grant JC's wishes of having a cuddle session. Stay tuned!
